  1. Alex - Had this been the final submission you would have failed the project. Please make sure you adhere to submission deadlines. If work is submitted after that time we cannot access it. That would be unfair to those who did submit on time. Don't put your degree at risk.

    Character Design Feedback

I think the consistent development of your characters has given you enough time to fully explore the narrative of this project, which is clear from your sophisticated storyboards. The action and drama is very easily read, and has the drama and tension that you wanted from our discussions. The three characters also help bring that narrative to life, along with their expressive expressions and body language. However I think they finalised images are still at little rough in places, and ideally the turnarounds should be cleaner. Their purpose in the design bible is as a guide for other animators or illustrators to be able to clearly understand the nuances of each character, line weight, detailing etc.

The storyboards are definitely very strong, but I think more work needs to be done to fleshing out the details of the environment. That could add a lot of atmosphere to the drama unfolding within the storyboard. The dimly lit speakeasy, the glint of menace in the eyes of Frankie L’don, the light pouring in from the harsh street lights outside as the police make their dramatic raid etc. I also think that bringing the textures and styles of the characters into the environment would help to integrate all of the elements.

In conclusion then, I think you have created some strong characters with a powerful narrative. However their is a degree of polish missing. I would strongly recommend giving this project some more time to bring everything up to the same standard. -JW
